Enquanto houver pobreza no mundo nós seremos infelizes.

O mundo vive uma convulsão humanitária. Muitas vezes afirmo que, enquanto houver pobreza, nunca haverá justiça. A fonte de tudo no universo é o amor e, no amor, não pode haver desigualdade. Existe uma máxima que diz: enquanto houver uma única pessoa infeliz, toda a humanidade jamais será plenamente feliz.

Evito falar sobre política, mas isso não significa que eu não seja politizado. Pelo contrário, sou profundamente politizado. Compreendo que o cerne do problema essencial que enfrentamos está na falta de amor e respeito que o ser humano tem por si próprio. Afinal, quem verdadeiramente se ama, ama o próximo na mesma medida – e isso é uma regra universal.

Se queremos que nosso país, o Brasil, evolua, precisamos olhar para o nosso povo com amor. Vejo pessoas jogadas pelas calçadas, muitas maltrapilhas e outras doentes. É evidente que estão sofrendo, e precisamos perguntar: o que podemos fazer para ajudar? Existem ONGs que trabalham em prol dessas causas, mas será que é suficiente?

Desde a infância, muitos de nós aprendemos – infelizmente – que os problemas dos outros são apenas dos outros. Mas isso está longe da verdade. O problema de um é, na essência, o problema de todos. Não podemos perder isso de vista; devemos mudar esse paradigma e reaprender a estender as mãos ao próximo. Em última análise, todos estaremos unidos na espiritualidade.

The world is experiencing a humanitarian upheaval. I often say that as long as there is poverty, there will never be justice. The source of everything in the universe is love, and in love, there can be no inequality. There is a maxim that says: as long as there is a single unhappy person, all of humanity will never be fully happy.

I avoid talking about politics, but that does not mean that I am not political. On the contrary, I am deeply political. I understand that the core of the essential problem we face is the lack of love and respect that human beings have for themselves. After all, those who truly love themselves love their neighbors in the same way – and this is a universal rule.

If we want our country, Brazil, to evolve, we need to look at our people with love. I see people lying on the sidewalks, many in rags and others sick. It is clear that they are suffering, and we need to ask: what can we do to help? There are NGOs that work for these causes, but is it enough?

Since childhood, many of us have learned – unfortunately – that other people’s problems are just other people’s problems. But this is far from the truth. One person’s problem is, in essence, everyone’s problem. We cannot lose sight of this; we must change this paradigm and relearn how to reach out to others. Ultimately, we will all be united in spirituality.
