A democracia é o governo do povo, pelo povo e para o povo. Um povo omisso gera um governo forte; um povo atuante transforma o governo em obediente. É dever dos governos, que são os mandatários, seguir as ordens do povo, que é o verdadeiro mandante. Fico profundamente triste ao ouvir alguém dizer que não gosta de política, pois é exatamente essa indiferença que nos traz à situação em que estamos.

O conceito essencial de democracia ressalta o papel ativo e indispensável do povo na construção e manutenção de um governo justo. A relação entre a omissão popular e a consolidação de um governo forte é poderosa, pois nos lembra que a participação cidadã é fundamental para equilibrar as forças democráticas.

Mandante: É aquele que dá ordens ou delega funções. É o responsável principal pela decisão ou ação a ser realizada. I am deeply saddened to hear someone say that they do not like politics, because it is precisely this indifference that has brought us to the situation we are in.
