A essência do amor através da filantropia.

Precisamos travar a batalha do amor e da renúncia, pois somente ao abrir mão da nossa vontade egoísta, poderemos transformar a triste realidade que vivemos atualmente. Foi o egoísmo que nos trouxe até aqui — e é a filantropia* que nos conduzirá ao verdadeiro estado de paz e amor que tanto necessitamos.

A maioria das pessoas pensa apenas em si, acreditando que ao resolver seus próprios problemas e dificuldades, está fazendo grande coisa pela humanidade. Ledo engano. Nossos problemas não se limitam ao que nos atinge pessoalmente, mas também ao que afeta a coletividade. Não estamos sós — acredite.

Aquilo que fere o nosso próximo, nos toca também. Talvez não percebamos de imediato, mas, ao presenciar alguém enfrentando uma dificuldade, estamos olhando para um reflexo do nosso próprio futuro. Se nos uníssemos para ajudar, por meio da filantropia, poderíamos encerrar ali mesmo aquela dor — e, juntos, nos fortaleceríamos imensamente.

Se orássemos mais frequentemente em comunhão, fortaleceríamos ainda mais nossa fé. Se nos déssemos as mãos, em todos os momentos, poderíamos construir um mundo mais justo e amoroso. Nossa força está no amor, pois ninguém realiza nada sozinho. O verdadeiro poder reside no povo — e esse povo somos nós.

\*Filantropia é o amor à humanidade, expresso em ações generosas que visam ajudar o próximo. Pode se manifestar de várias formas: doações, voluntariado, apoio a causas sociais ou qualquer iniciativa que promova o bem-estar coletivo. O verdadeiro filantropo age sem esperar recompensa — movido apenas pelo desejo de tornar o mundo um lugar melhor.

We need to fight the battle of love and renunciation, because only by giving up our selfish will can we transform the sad reality we currently live in. It was selfishness that brought us here — and it is philanthropy* that will lead us to the true state of peace and love that we so desperately need.

Most people only think about themselves, believing that by solving their own problems and difficulties, they are doing a great thing for humanity. How wrong they are. Our problems are not limited to what affects us personally, but also to what affects the community. We are not alone — believe me.

What hurts our neighbors affects us too. We may not realize it right away, but when we see someone facing a difficult situation, we are looking at a reflection of our own future. If we came together to help, through philanthropy, we could end that pain right there — and together, we would become immensely stronger.

If we prayed more often in communion, we would strengthen our faith even more. If we joined hands at all times, we could build a more just and loving world. Our strength lies in love, because no one achieves anything alone. True power lies in the people — and that people is us.
