Amar, olhar com amor, falar sobre amor, cumprimentar com amor — esse foi um dos maiores segredos que aprendi com o tempo. E é isso que procuro, sempre que posso, ensinar às pessoas.

Quando respondemos a uma agressão com amor, ela se desfaz. A tensão se dissolve, e podemos transformar aquela situação em algo completamente diferente — pleno de luz, pleno de amor.

Experimente. No meio de uma querela, olhe para o seu opositor com amor. Encare, com sinceridade, o fundo dos olhos dessa pessoa. Essa experiência é profundamente transformadora. Quando isso acontece, os problemas se desmancham, mesmo que o outro não corresponda à altura. Ainda assim, algo nele muda. Creia.

O amor tem um poder indescritível. Viemos ao mundo para aprender sobre ele, para vivê-lo no cotidiano. A existência, como já dizia Einstein, é uma ilusão — e eu repito isso com frequência. Ela nos foi dada para que possamos transmutar nossos corações e, assim, transformar o próprio mundo.

Vivemos em uma sociedade que acredita apenas na vitória da competição. Mas o que é isso, senão a manifestação do ódio em nossos corações? Para vencer, é preciso querer estar à frente dos outros — e, para isso, acabamos rompendo com nossas conexões mais profundas, tentando tirar dos outros aquilo que lhes pertence.

The Silent Power of Love

To love, to look with love, to speak about love, to greet with love—this was one of the greatest secrets I learned over time. And that's what I try, whenever I can, to teach people.

When we respond to aggression with love, it dissolves. The tension dissolves, and we can transform that situation into something completely different—full of light, full of love.

Try it. In the midst of a quarrel, look at your opponent with love. Look, sincerely, into their eyes. This experience is profoundly transformative. When this happens, problems melt away, even if the other person doesn't measure up. Still, something in them changes. Believe it.

Love has an indescribable power. We came into this world to learn about it, to experience it in our daily lives. Existence, as Einstein said, is an illusion—and I repeat this often. It was given to us so that we can transmute our hearts and, thus, transform the world itself.

We live in a society that believes only in victory through competition. But what is this if not the manifestation of hatred in our hearts? To win, we must strive to be ahead of others—and to do so, we end up breaking our deepest connections, trying to take from others what belongs to them.
