Empathy: The Source of Peace and Unity

Empathy is the source of peace and love in the world. It is the ability to feel, within ourselves, what another person is feeling—and translate that into feelings, thoughts, and actions. It is the soul of another person reverberating within our own, in a profound connection. And the most beautiful thing: it can happen even from a distance, when we are able to renounce our ego and open ourselves to the other.

What gives strength and power to a group of people is empathy. When we can emulate others in feeling, we are able to walk together. And all we need most in the world is unity. Just observe the power of a bundle of branches: alone, they break easily; united, they become almost indestructible.

Look at groups of companies in the same industry—they are always united in their interests. Meanwhile, the people remain at the mercy of their will, precisely because they lack empathy for each other. The same thing happens in politics: we are the ones in charge, they are the ones who are the ones who are in charge, but in practice, they are the ones who control us. Why?

Because there is a lack of awareness in relationships. And when there is awareness, true power emanates from it, manifesting itself through empathy. This is what great men throughout history have tried to show us. But we remain lost in our selfishness. Looking at others with love, and loving as we love ourselves—that is the law.
