Prayer in Poetry Form by Rick SteindorferLord of the unquenchable light, Hear the song of my heart, Which asks not for gold, nor for a sword, But for peace, truth, and compassion.
May I be a bridge, not a wall, May I be a breeze, not a hurricane, May my word never fail To sow love in the darkness.
May I not lose myself in vanity, Nor hide behind knowledge, But may I live with humility, And always learn to recognize.
If pain comes as a visit, May I receive it with meekness, For every blessed tear Is a seed of transformation.
May I serve, even in silence, May I love, even without a voice, For You know what I think And You always walk among us.
